Skills

Write down how your company does things, so every connected agent follows the same procedure. Drafts, publishing, archiving and the skills Noetix provides.

A skill is a written procedure: "how we ship a release", "how we onboard a customer", "how we record a decision". Once published, every agent connected to your brain finds it and follows it, in the Noetix chat and in Claude Code, Cursor or Codex.

Find your skills

Open Settings › Skills. Your workspace's skills are listed by status:

  • Active: published. Agents follow these, and only these.
  • Drafts: written, not yet published. Agents never see them.
  • Archived: removed. Agents stop following them, and their history stays.

Write a skill

Press New skill, or ask the assistant in Agent mode to write one ("Write a skill for how we review pull requests"). The assistant always shows you the skill before it is saved.

Members draft, admins publish

A member's new skill is a draft, and they can keep editing their own draft. An admin publishes it, and only admins change a published skill or archive one. A skill is an instruction every agent follows, so publishing is the moment someone responsible looks at it.

Agents connected over MCP can write a draft too (draft_skill). Nothing an agent does over MCP publishes a skill.

Noetix skills

Settings › Skills also lists a few skills Noetix wrote, about using the brain well: record-a-decision, brief-a-new-teammate and write-a-weekly-update. Open one to read every step, then Add to my skills. Nothing is added unless you add it.

Remove a skill

Archive it. There is no delete, so an archived skill can always be restored with its history.

How agents use skills

When a task matches a skill, the agent reads it and follows it. Over MCP that is search_skills and use_skill. An agent is only given a skill that matches its task, so it doesn't follow the nearest procedure for something unrelated.
