Build your brain
Pages and files
Upload files or write pages in your brain. How pages are edited, how every version is kept, and how the Notes page holds one-off facts.
Everything in your brain is either a page, which lives in Noetix, or a synced item, whose real copy lives in another tool (see Connectors).
Upload files
On the Brain page, choose Add knowledge and drop in files: PDF, Word, Markdown, text, CSV and JSON. Each file becomes a page and is built into the brain in the background.
You can also upload from the chat: press + and choose Upload to brain.
Write a page
On the Brain page, choose Add knowledge › Write a page. Give it a title and write. Headings help: an edit to one section only rebuilds that section.
Or ask in Agent mode: "Write a page about how we run releases."
Edit a page
Open the page and edit it, or ask the assistant in Agent mode to change it. Agents connected over MCP can edit pages too.
Every version is kept. Open a page's history to see who changed what and when, and restore any earlier version. That is why edits don't need approval: nothing an edit does is lost.
The Notes page
A one-off fact that doesn't need a page of its own ("our office moves on 1 March") goes on the Notes page as a dated line. It is an ordinary page: read it, edit it, restore it.
Decisions
A decision gets its own page, titled Decision: <what was decided>, with what was
decided, when, why, and what was considered. When the company changes its mind, the new
decision gets its own page and the old one is marked as replaced, never deleted, so the
reason for the change stays on record. Ask the assistant in Agent mode to record one.
Files in the chat are not saved
A file you drop into the chat is attached to that conversation only, so you can ask about it. It reaches your brain only when you press Add to brain on it.
Remove something
Removing is for workspace admins: remove a page or a synced item from the Brain page. In Agent mode the assistant can remove things too, but it always asks first, and an admin approves it.
