Build your brain
Your website
Build your brain from your company's public website. How Noetix finds the pages, which ones it picks, and how it keeps them current.
Your website is the fastest way to a brain that knows something about your company. Noetix reads your public pages, the same ones anyone can see, and keeps them current.
Add your website
During setup, the first screen asks for your website, filled in from your work email. Later, open Connectors in the sidebar, choose Website, and type the address.
Noetix reads the home page first. If the site can't be read, it says why.
A workspace reads one website. To read a different one, disconnect the first on Connectors › Website.
Which pages it finds
Noetix looks in the places a site lists its own pages:
- robots.txt, for what it may read and where the sitemap is. Its rules are kept.
- llms.txt, if your site has one: your own list of pages for AI tools.
- The sitemap, every page the site says it has.
- Links from the home page, only when the above find too little.
Only pages on your own site are read. Account pages, carts, tags, archives and files that aren't pages (PDFs, images) are left out.
Which pages it picks
The list is ranked: the home page first, then the pages about your company and product (about, pricing, docs, features, security), then your newest posts. Legal pages and other languages' copies of the same pages come last.
The best pages are picked for you, up to 50. Untick any you don't want, or pick others from the list. Pages already in your brain are marked.
What can't be read
- Pages that need JavaScript to show their text. Noetix reads pages the way a search engine does, without running scripts.
- Pages behind a login.
- Very long pages keep their first part, so one page can't take over the brain.
Noetix tells you how many picked pages it couldn't read.
How it stays current
Noetix checks your website once a week. A page whose text changed is read again and replaces the old copy once the new one is built, so your brain never loses a page while it updates. To change how often, open Connectors › Website.
Every page keeps its address, so an answer that uses one links to the live page.
