Build your brain
Connectors
Connect Slack, Google Drive and Notion to your brain. What each one brings in, how it stays current, and who can connect it.
A connector brings in what your company already writes in another tool. The real copy stays in that tool: Noetix reads it and keeps its own copy current, so you never edit a synced item in Noetix itself.
Connecting a source is for workspace admins. Everything it brings in feeds the whole workspace's brain, and everyone in the workspace can read it.
The connectors
| Connector | What it brings in | How it stays current |
|---|---|---|
| Website | Your public pages, up to 50 | Checked every week. See Your website |
| Google Drive | Docs, Sheets, Slides and text files. Google files become text | Files you imported are checked for changes and replaced |
| Notion | Pages and docs | Same as Google Drive |
| Slack | Conversations from the channels you pick | Optional: Noetix can watch channels and save what's worth keeping |
Connect a source
- Open Connectors in the sidebar.
- Choose the source and press +. You sign in to that tool and approve access.
- Back in Noetix, open your Brain and choose Import to pick what to bring in. You choose each file, page or channel. Nothing comes in that you didn't pick.
Slack only shows channels the Noetix bot was invited to. Run /invite in a Slack
channel to add it.
How sources stay current
Google Drive and Notion are checked on their own once connected. A file whose text changed is read again, and the new copy replaces the old one only once it is built, so a document never drops out of your brain while it updates. Change how often on the source's card in Connectors.
Slack is different, because watching a conversation means a model deciding what in it is worth keeping. It is off until an admin switches on Watch this source. Then, on the Connectors page, Before saving decides what happens to what it finds:
- Ask me: everything it wants to save waits in Approvals until you say yes.
- Traced only: it saves what it can point to in the messages, and drops anything it can't.
- Automatic: it saves what it finds without asking. Every change can be undone from the page's history.
When a source stops working
If a source can't be read several times in a row (for example, access was removed in that tool), Noetix stops checking it and marks it Needs attention on the Connectors page, with the reason. Reconnecting usually fixes it. Then switch checking back on.
What connectors don't do yet
Deleting a file in Drive or Notion doesn't remove it from your brain; remove it from the Brain page. And everything synced is visible to everyone in the workspace: there are no per-source permissions yet, so connect only what your whole team may read.
